for the students, and also for study purposes. I also find the functions to be fairly intuitive. The item does not feel quite as sturdy as the Edirol, but at the price, I believe it is outstanding value and good quality, with some features that the Edirol does not have.
The little stand that it comes with is handy indeed. Fidelity of sound is good and not at all tinny.
I own an Edirol but purchased 5 of these for a music department for the sole purpose of recording piano lessons and practice performances in a small concert hall. It is extremely portable and presents a variety of formats for recording.
It also came with a 1GB card, which was a pleasant surprise. My purpose is not to use this as a professional recording but to have it suitable as a recording tool for auditions etc.
After 30 minutes or so of looking at the manual or so of setting it up, I used it in both situations (studio as well as hall) and found the results to be excellent, after a little experimentation with the recording levels.
After receiving my second H2, I went right to work recording my band. I then used Final Vinyl to edit and separate the tracks. Very satisfied with the H2 although the first one I received did not work properly. This thing is amazing; the quality is superb and easily downloadable to my mac. I take it everywhere I go in order to grab that perfect sound effect or just to listen to songs stored on it. I called Amazon about the problem and they sent out a new one immediately. Good for you AMAZON; a company with real CUSTOMER SERVICE, Bravo.
This is a portable professional-level sound recorderHad this device for 2 months now.Pros:-Recording is studio-quality.-Ease of use, and straightforward menus. These are definitely keepers, and I would love to know where I could get more like these.Cons:-Screen could be larger, but is certainly not too small. select kbps of MP3 recording)-The device DOES work with SDHC cards: i.e. Manufacturer's website specifically mentions compatibility with certain cards over 16gb.-Space for 2 AA type batteries, which allows me to choose any battery type I prefer.-Standard mini USB for file transfer, which is great - no proprietory connectors to deal with.-Includes portable stand, foam windscreen, cables, earphones (ear-bud type), cables.-Quality of the earbuds is fantastic.
However, the plastic construction is, in fact, sturdy, although it may not be fully aesthetically pleasing.-When listening to a recording, fast-forwarding may be slow. This is not a decision factor when buying in my case.-Foam muff (windscreen) for the microphone is relatively cheap-looking. No, this device is certainly not made of metal. To resolve this, just press pause, and fast forward - it's much faster that way.Overall: The best value, by far, out of all the different types of professional portable recorders. Therefore, it is not as solid. Able to customize settings relatively easily (i.e.
However, it works, so my beef is only aesthetics.-Would really help if this had a portable case to go with it.-Other reviewers mention the cheap plastic construction. Or at least the ones listed on Amazon. SD memory cards with capacity of 4GB and higher. I would not have expected such high good earbuds included with device.
This fits the bill for both. I did have to read the instructions before I could transfer files to my Mac.Sound quality is fabulous. We manufacture outdoor musical instruments and need accurate sound files for our web site. Also I am a digital story teller and needed better quality voice -overs.
Totally worth the price. This was exactly what I needed for recording rehearsals. The sound quality is awesome and it is extremely easy to transfer to computer and then burn to CD.
